Parking/Tube - London

Hi!

hopefully someone will have a great idea for me!

I’ve got 2 tickets for the final SNT at the television centre on Saturday.

we live in Aylesbury, and would normally drive to Amersham and tube into the city, but there is closures on the line, same if I drove to Stanmore for the jubilee line.

I was considering driving to West Ruislip, and tubing from there, but there’s only 136 spaces, so I’m not sure if I would get a space.

I'm going with my pregnant friend, so I’d rather get in a bit closer. Another friend has suggested driving to Ealing Broadway, again I’m not sure of parking!

Hopefully one of you may have some suggestions for me! Thank you

What about parking at Tring/Berko or somewhere along that line - you can change at Watford and go direct to Shepherds Bush from there.

InTheRainOnATrain · 11/04/2024 12:38

Any reason why you don’t want to just drive the whole way? It’s opposite the Westfield isn’t it so just park in their car park and walk over?

Whataweirdsituation · 11/04/2024 12:39

Agree parking in Westfield is easy! But we park in West Ruislip occasionally and there’s always been loads of space (as long as off peak)

Whataweirdsituation · 11/04/2024 12:42

I’d be careful if you were relying on the Southern service (Shepherds Bush-Watford) as there are frequent cancellations and they don’t run in the evening.

Fifiellz · 11/04/2024 12:43

I always go to Cockfoster, plenty of road parking if the car park is full and because it's the end of the line you can always get a seat

TheFlis · 11/04/2024 12:43

I am from near Aylesbury and lived close to Television Centre so have done that journey many times. I agree with driving it, should take less than an hour on a Saturday and easy parking at Westfield.

Pinksnowstars · 11/04/2024 12:48

I’ve not driven into Westfield before 🙈

i’m a little nervous of central London driving 🤣

If you’re coming from Amersham way you won’t need to go anywhere near central London.

It’s honestly really easy - straight down the A40, off at the junction and into the car park at Westfield about 2 mins drive later.

If you really don’t want to though I live very near West Ruislip and you will definitely get a parking space at the station or on the streets across the road on a Saturday.

Have fun!

itsgettingweird · 11/04/2024 13:32

I understand re driving into central London.

However I was in Stratford last week at Olympic pool and so many others drove in and used Westfield car park and said it was easy.

I just caught train from Portsmouth and jubilee line to Stratford!

Westfield is not central London.

Nitgel · 11/04/2024 13:36

Park at Edgware in the commuter car park which is $6 normally get a space there, otherwise they have a big sainsbury's car park right next to it but you may pay up to $12 (pound key not working :))

What is SNT and what studio is the filming at?

You won’t be going into central London, it’s 2 minutes off the A40, no more complicated than going to services off a dual carriageway. Trying to think of a local comparison, Like going to John Lewis or the cinema in High Wycombe if you come off the M40? Or into Tring off the A41? Easier than that!

Revelatio · 11/04/2024 13:39

Westfield isn’t central London. It’s just a junction off a dual carriageway. You’ll honestly be fine.

Porridgeislife · 11/04/2024 13:40

We live not far from you. Park at Westfield, it’s a very easy drive and you barely leave the motorway.

Alternatively use Hillingdon.

CheapThrillsMeanNothing · 11/04/2024 13:42

You could park at Harrow & Wealdstone station car park or on the roads nearby. Get the fast train or Overground to Euston or the Bakerloo line into London. Fast train takes about 15 minutes, Overground about 30 minutes to Euston, and Bakerloo 40 minutes to Oxford Circus.

There's no Met Line from Harrow on the Hill to Aldgate this weekend

Hillingdon is on the Piccadilly line as well.

We normally do this - but at the moment I think that stretch of the Northern Line is off for engineering works (was last week) - so check before you travel.

Nitgel · 11/04/2024 13:52

yes coffee think it's until today. is so irritating !

edinburghstay2024 · 11/04/2024 13:54

Have you got definite entry tickets?

If not you'll need to get there early to queue as most tv shows always give out more tickets than they have room for so it usually says does not guarantee entry or similar on it.

Today should be the last day of the closure. Should be up and running again tomorrow.

Namenamchange · 11/04/2024 14:09

You could try Osterley, they have a car park, but if it’s full you can park on the A4 outside peoples houses.

Pinksnowstars · 11/04/2024 14:13

We do need to get there silly early to make sure we get in, perhaps you are all right and driving is the best option
