When dating, how long or how many dates would you say it takes to ask someone to be a partner. 3-6 months or longer?

We didn’t have any dates as such but spent a lot of time together as friends. We were part of the same friendship group, and we were exes as well! He asked me to be his girlfriend, rather than partner though. We didn’t consider ourselves partners until we were living together.

I think partner is a few steps up the ladder.

do you mean asking to be exclusive?

Exclusively dating was quite quick. 4 months to be bf/gf. 6 months for I love you's. Would consider us partners now but it's been 7 years!

This. Two very different things. ‘Partner’ to me implies a serous, committed relationship, most likely, though not necessarily, cohabiting. But certainly assuming a longterm future together.

exclusive dating? Before any sexual activity

partner? When we decide to move in together and commingle finances or some variation there upon
