C section or vaginal birth?

Been offered a c section due to medical reasons.

Very anxious about this as have a fear of surgery, it’s the thought of being awake whilst they do it. Has anyone got any positive stories about c sections? If you have had both, which did you prefer?

Thanks in advance

Hi, I just mentioned at my first midwife appointment with my 2nd baby that I had been told by the doctors that I would need c sections in future. They asked if that's what I wanted and said that was fine, I'd get an appointment with the consultant to book me in for it. I had that appointment quite early in the pregnancy, though can't remember to be exact.
I wasn't recommended for a vbac as my pelvis is either too small or slightly tilted, so I could apparently only have small babies without birth difficulties. With 3 and 4, they had my birth history there at the booking in appointment and I just mentioned that I needed a c section. I had consultations in the pregnancy to talk about it and given a date. Hope that helps.x

Three vaginal and one emergency c-section.
I wouldn’t have wanted another c-section, but ultimately they all resulted in healthy babies.
