Who else can't wait for Easter weekend?

I can't wait for a four day break and two shorter weeks. Countdown is on, just four working days to get out the way 🤪

To be honest I find Easter a bit wearing compared to a lot of people, but then I suppose we've all got a cross to bear.

😂

Nice to have you on here, Jesus! Name change fail? 😉

Thank you, I do however, always try to look on the bright side of life.

I break up Weds for 5 days and can't wait. Totally agree with it being a micro Christmas in a good way.

I'm Catholic so will be at church 4 times in 4 days, otherwise just a lunch with friends and family lunch on Easter Sunday.

Annoying that my son is still in school until Thurs, personally I think the school cocked up the dates as every other primary around here is off!

@WashableVelvet haha I'm laughing to myself

Me!! Easter weekend is always my favourite one of the year! Even over Christmas!

  1. There's relatively little planning involved... buy some choc eggs and ingredients for a roast and you're done whereas Christmas you plan and prep for aggges,
  2. The weather is usually getting a bit better, spring has sprung.
  3. Family time or at least time with friends.
  4. It's always a 4 day weekend.
  5. Chocolate!

I agree with all of this!

mumofoneanddone82 · 25/03/2024 09:04

@FizzyStream @DrunkTinkerbell40s totally! The idea of Christmas is nice but the reality is major pressure and burnout! This is nice and then two more bank holidays to look forward to 🤩

Holy Week and Easter is my favourite week of the year. Definitely over Christmas. I always book it off work.

LlynTegid · 25/03/2024 09:16

The comment about no forced socialising rings very true to me.

My DS is still at school this week too, we live in Derbyshire and our school holidays always seem to come a week later than the rest of the country.

Cool.... I need to work where you work! Grin

I've only ever worked at 2 universities and they both have the extended Easter closure. I thought it was standard but just googled a few random other institutions and they only have the extended Christmas break so it must be less common that I thought. Sorry! You do get Christmas closure though I hope.

We do, thank you 😊

It's something! Can't moan too much. We don't have a bad amount of leave...as long as we are actually able to take it!

Me me me. I love Easter so much. I’ve made Easter baskets for my nephew and my best friend who had a baby last month so she’s all squishy and will be wearing clothes with bunnies on. I am going to bake, eat all the chocolate and cook my once a year lamb roast (my husband doesn’t like lamb).

i also getting an Easter basket from my husband with goodies

Oh yes. Three more days for us and we're off 😁🙌🏻

OnGoldenPond · 25/03/2024 21:05

Another one working at a university. Everyone is off from close of play Wednesday the next Wednesday morning. No one even allowed into the buildings without a special permit from security! So it's a real enforced holiday. It's a good thing as you can have a break without worrying about the mass of emails to wade through when you get back as everyone else is off too.

ButtockUp · 25/03/2024 21:12

It's a yayyy for me.
Although I've recently retired my husband and I are visiting in laws and all of our adult children will be visiting, most of whom live a long way away.
Lots of chatter, good food ( which we are all contributing to, ) and some precious family time.
Can't wait.

ShaunaSadeki · 25/03/2024 21:29

I absolutely can’t wait, I really need a break from work, this week is already proving stressful. DS is coming home for a few days on Thursday. I am out for dinner with friends on Thursday, doing a big meal for extended family on Friday then hanging out with the DC. Then our absolute best friends in the world are coming to stay Saturday until Monday.

CrushingOnRubies · 25/03/2024 21:37

Normally go away for a holiday but looking forward to a staycation, but have some DIY and cba with finding somewhere ti go. So instead... Spa day in local hotel booked, maybe a cinema trip and a nice meal out somewhere. If the weather allows some nice different dog walks. I cannot wait

culturevulture1984 · 25/03/2024 22:04

Yes to the short weeks!

Only 3 more days to go now.

Short break planned with the family.

Looking forward.
