I've been thanked??

Hello, I keep getting emails stating I've been thanked on MN. Is this something new? How can I thank people?

I keep accidentally clicking it as it sits where my thumb is while scrolling, so when I notice, I undo it, I hope people don't get unthank messages too! And that the emails aren't immediate.

Obviously I leave it when I do mean it.

I get thanked through my notifications I don't think you get unthanked notices ?

I started getting these emails a couple of weeks ago. Turned off the notifications now. It's bloody annoying and pointless.

I think half the time it's people pressing the wrong button

You just click on the thanks button under the post on desktop version, click it again if clicked by accident and it goes. It will tell them who thanked them - I have notifications off - if they hover over it and it does give whatever username you are currently logged in as so sometimes the username changes.

I'm faintly amused that I was thanked for my message about my incompetent thanking! I wonder if they meant it!
