How long in days or weeks does a full tank of petrol last you and how many miles
Driving a 2009 ford fiesta
Having to fill it every 1.5 weeks. Roughly every 128 miles

Zafira, does about 400 miles.
I know that because each 1/4 a tank when the car is running normally is around 100 miles.
If I'm doing more motorway miles, or for a time afterwards it can be as much as 140miles/quarter.
If I've only been doing short local journeys, especially when it's coming up for a service it might go down to 85-90 miles per quarter.

A full tank is about 350 litres . I fill up when I've driven about 270 miles because I dont like it getting too empty. i average about 34 mpg. I calculated I get about 6 miles for every litre.

Nissan Juke
We get 380-400 miles in the tank
Most of the time it's super short journeys, my husband has the longest commute at 15 miles twice a week so it lasts us 3ish weeks

What the heck are you driving? A challenger tank?

My Fiesta holds 42 litres 😂

Surely everyone’s combination of fuel tank size and frequency of use is different, so the only useful measurement for comparison is the mpg?

My Skoda Fabia does an average of 56mpg (real world, from my trip computer) in a mix of country roads, motorway and city driving.

Haha , sorry no I meant to say I get about 350 miles. It's got about a 50 or 55 litre capacity in the fuel tank, I can't remember which .

Clevs · 18/03/2024 20:43

My car has a 56 litre tank and I get 300-340 miles out of it on average.

2.0 litre petrol Golf R estate (300bhp performance model so is not going to be economical).

How much is it costing you to fill and is this from empty?

I drive a Skoda Citigo, frequency is variable from a few days to about a month depending on what I'm doing but I get at least 350 miles from full to just after the light has come on. This is a 35 litre tank which is about the smallest I've ever known from lots of cars.

You're either not filling from empty or there's something wrong with your car.

😳

That poster will likely have a car with a bigger tank.

I did wonder. I actually felt a little jealous 😂

Ford Fiesta 2015. Get nearli 400 miles from full tank

Lily124 · 18/03/2024 21:45

@Volvovolvo if you're really only getting 128 miles on a full tank I think there is a problem with your car (?fuel leak), because the tank must hold more fuel than would do 128 miles. I used to have a tiny citroen C2 (think tank held about 45L) and even that would do about 320 miles on a full tank
