The Oscars tonight who else is watching?

ITV for the first time at 2230. I hope it’s a good one. I still miss Joan live on the red carpet☹️. I’m just watching Poor Thing then I think I’ve seen most of the nominations. I hope Oppenheimer doesn’t sweep the board. I liked it but I don’t like it when one film dominates.

Always felt for RDJ. His past. Similar to drew Barrymore really. So glad he made a comeback.

RDJ's dad got him hooked on drugs when he was a kid. He's done brilliantly.

I agreed with the comments about Ryan Gosling’s portrayal of Ken. That’s just based on watching “I’m Just Ken” far too many times as I haven’t seen the film.

I’m staying up until he sings it on the programme, so it will probably be near the end…

That was a great speech. Very switched on and self aware. Feeling a bit of tension from Christopher Nolan.

I think RDJ deserves one as he was robbed for Chaplin. Al Pacino's Hee Haw Scent of a Woman beat him with a quite hammy performance.

I think he's dad was just some kind of bohemian who loved drugs.

God yes it was very hammy wasn't it. Wouldn't watch it now but would happily watch Chaplin.

His dad worked in the movie industry. So, RDJ was around all the parties etc.

That is a travesty. He was fantastic as Chaplin. I hate AP's performance in SOW.

I loved him in Wonderboys and Kiss kiss bang bang too, although he was nominated for neither. Ryan Gosling in the Nice Guys (Shane Black again) was amazing. He's been good in so many roles. His Oscar time will surely come.

Chaplin's an amazing film. I saw him in an interview and he said he was so high, he can't remember even filming it!
Fun fact ... Charlie Chaplin's grand daughter plays her grandmother in the film.

Wonderboys is one of my favourite films. Yes, he was fantastic in that.

I think he thanked Chris, as he directed the joker, which heath ledger won the oscar for, robbing RDJ of winning.
