At 57 you are not too old to have another shot at love. Stop looking in his direction though because you’ve lost enough time that way.

Ditch his sorry ass. And if you are worried about getting a beating or other types of threats and harrasment then just call the police on him if anything like that materialises.

That is abuse. Even more reason to leave.
