What’s everyone’s plans for half term?

No children to take care of but I work in education so have a week off. We are going to Co. Durham to visit family that we haven't seen for a while.

I'm hoping to see some snow but not enough to get stuck.

I have made absolutely no firm plans, work has been mental and half term has crept up on us!

My vague plan is:

Trip to a National trust place (we've got membership so no extra cost)

Cinema

Try and get a playdate organised

Keep up with their reading, writing and maths games

DD1 has requested a Chinese banquet as she's been learning about Chinese New Year at school so we'll do that one evening.

Other than that I'm looking forward to not having to rush about so much and if we have some days watching films in our PJs then that's fine with me!

My half term: laugh at the kids as they go to school each day. Paint the diningroom. Paint our bedroom. Go to the tip.

Kids half term: sneek out before they get up (haha, fat chance) to avoid the laughing. Obsessively check my phone at every opportunity to make sure they are both responding to whatsapp and haven't killed each other.

I have an activity morning in a local woodland with DD one of the days. A couple of play dates with her friends at the park if the weather holds, if not then at each others houses. Then the library, out on her scooter, and so on. I don’t want to have something exciting every day because it raises expectation and is expensive.

Absolutely nothing.

All last year super packet school holidays this one week is for seeing where the day takes us.

If it's hammering down we shall stay in and master homemade popcorn or something

If they are bored I'll teach them to clean windows properly or something

Don't care we all need a week of no plans

I like this, kids are being entertained far too much these days. They are being activated all day at school, they need some time to just see where the day takes them. My kids (6 & 8) have just cleaned our chairs, mirrors and kitchen cupboards. They loved it!
