So I'm not feeling very well and stuck in bed with my youngest two at home. Got CBeebies on tap. Just got me thinking 🤔 on CBeebies my least favourite presenter is probably Andy, then Reece, Nigel has grown on me a bit after watching baby club - favourite is George, I like that despite his condition he puts himself out there.. Joanna is nice too and I guess the rest are a bit meh 😑

This is a pretty unpleasant thread, which seems to be a bit of a trend.
Why not ask who others' favourite - rather than least favourite - is?

Corondel · 05/02/2024 09:21

DS is now 11, and my memories of CBeebies are just a horrible blur, but I took against Nina from Nina and the Neurons.

Because people are allowed to dislike things?

There's always one ☝️, people are allowed to disagree you know.

Of course they are. I might strongly dislike your dress, but I wouldn't say so because that would be unpleasant.

Hacker the CBBC dog. Let's face it - Broom Cupboard/CBBC HQ puppets have been on a steady decline since Gordon the Gopher and Edd the Duck.

Needmorelego · 05/02/2024 09:37

@CoffeeWithCheese I did think it was hilarious when Hacker was at Wimbledon doing interviews - which were shown on regular BBC1 and 2 and people who didn't watch children's TV were like "what on earth is that interviewing Sue Barker".

The ones on Milkshake seem very nice, but are a bit manic for me. I like calm.

timetofetgit · 05/02/2024 09:51

I think it's fine to critique art and artists so long as it doesn't get personal.
I found quite a few of the characters annoying*. However there was an event on several years ago, and dd, who has got a number of difficulties, got to meet some of the celebs, they were absolutely lovely, incredibly kind, and humble (a characteristic we don't seem to admire anymore mores the pity). The real person behind the TV facade is / was very different from the one performing. It made me realise the very real skill they have when performing.

*should add finding annoying characters is fine because 1) I'm not their target audience! 2) they are performing as that character. Dc thought they were all ace, and since that is their target audience that's the important part.
