Can someone recommend a fence paint that will last?

Painted our very long fence 18 months ago and it looks like crap. The dark green paint has flaked and faded and looks years old. Did we buy a crap brand? What will look decent for a few years? Thanks!

Don't use fence paint but the stuff used for outdoor furniture

It is more expensive but I got mine on 3 for 2

Only thing to remember is if you do need to do a second coat it needs to be done before the first is dry

I always use Creocote. It's very easy to apply, and is excellent at preserving wood. It is the consistency of water, and can go on with a brush or roller. The only downside from me would be it only comes in light brown, dark brown, and black.

I don’t have the answer but following with interest. I spent hours last summer painting my fence a sage with Ronseal Fence Life plus and it’s looking awful again.

Perhaps the traditional brown and black last longer?

I think the issue with fence paint is it's just a layer that sits on the surface. A fence stain would probably be much more long lasting but I don't know if they come in anything other than various shades of brown.
Our neighbour used creocoat and it smells very strong so be warned about that. We could smell it for weeks and their fence is the other side of the garden from us.
