I was given this £10 M&S perfume (eau de toilette) as a gift

I like it. I can't really see what's nicer about the (much) more expensive perfumes I have. What is the actual difference and can people tell I'm wearing cheap perfume?

I did too. Island Sunset. Gutted that's gone. M&S perfumes are fab.

It's well known designer brands make the majority of their cash from perfume and sunglasses (once developed they are cheap to produce).

Sounds like there are quite a few dupes. I hadn't realised, I just liked them in their own merits.

They seem Fragonard perfumes as well which are a bit more expensive but they're utterly gorgeous.

I wear a pricy rochas and a not pricy Avon

I get a lot of compliments- and surprise- for the Avon. Only thing is it doesn't last as long whereas the Rochas lasts all day
