I work in an office space that is situated on the shop floor of a department store. The walls are thin and I unintentionally can hear any conversation that goes on behind them.
More recently, I'm hearing ( mostly older ) men being very belittling towards their wife's/ partners. What's frustrating is that the women are just accepting it.
They don't know I can hear them and to be honest I don't just sit and eves drop on everyone's conversations, but I can't help it if I hear an angry voice calling someone a 'stupid cow' or 'fucking idiot'.
These people are in an area of the shop where they don't think people can hear much if they're quiet. It's very concerning how often I'm hearing it too.
Next time I feel like walking out to the shop floor and making it obvious they have been heard.
