NYE lonely hearts club

Couldn’t see a thread like this so join on in for anyone who is lonely, sad heartbroken this New Years Eve.

I am all of the above. Going through a break up that is extremely difficult and this night felt like a cut off point to end contact so it’s just really settling in now that it’s over.

So about to crack open some wine and I’ll watch the fireworks on BBC. Any joiners of the club?

🙋🏼‍♀️ Have drunk a bottle of red wine, had Brie and bacon baguette and am watching Call the Midwife with the cat.
Not sure I've ever had a more middle aged lonely NYE.
I know what you're saying about it being a clean start to the year but I am boggling at not having received a HNY text.
Must not drink any more wine otherwise I'll crack and message.

I’m in bed with my dog at the end snoring.

I'm not on my own, but am feeling sad and lonely nonetheless.. I am jealous of all the people with parties to go to or friends to be with!

Christmas was horrific, and partner and I broke up about 4 hours ago.

Now both lying in separate bedrooms and I'm contemplating all the hassle around moving out in the new year. So that's fun.

I'll join. I split up with my partner the day before Christmas Eve. A very lonely and sad Christmas and now NYE. Spent mostly on the sofa. And now no contact with my ex which is the right thing, but shit and depressing too. In 2024 I am determined to get some better friends so that even if I am single for life, I'm not stuck in alone when I'd rather be out doing something fun.

Well I’ve sunk a few spirit mixers now! Trying not to get too into my feelings. I sat with a relative while watching the fireworks so the time I usually cry didn’t happen and now I’m determined not to cry this NYE.

Hoping we all happier by the end of January.
