Catering for 4 visitors (including 2 teenagers)

So at my parents, they aren't used to having 4 of us visit. We come 3 times a year maybe 4 its a 3 hour drive so we always cube for a day or too.

I turned up with a lasagne last night which was fine, this morning lunch was a single packet of pigs in blankets and 3 slices of bread, a cheese board and crackers.

I am just organising a takeaway for dinner tonight. I find it hard to remember my mum just doesn't have any concept of how much essentially 4 adults eat. I will just bring food when we visit from now on its fine but we do chat about it she tells me she's got stuff in but then doesn't have bread???

Also just had to go to shops for stuff for brunch tomorrow before we leave

I am moaning on here so I can smile and nod at home!

Anyone else visiting and the cupboard is bare?

Fortunately not. My toddler ate more than me today: two cheese and chutney rolls/baps (pick whatever name you like), a load of picnicky bits (crisps, grapes, satsuma etc) and a slice Christmas cake.

same every time we go to parents or in-laws. It’s getting worse as time passes. The portions are getting smaller and smaller.

I overheard the 70+ crowd talking at our big Christmas gathering about how they just can’t eat as much anymore. They get a 4ou piece of meat and split it between the couple, add one tiny spoonful of veggies, and feel like they over ate.

I used to think they still thought of us as children, but now I think it is that they have lost all concept of normal portions. Even when they think they are sizing up, it is exponentially off.

DM has taken to performative undereating, however is quite happy to feed the rest of the family generously.

MIL and I are both feeders.

No penis portions in either family!
