So today me and hubby decided to sit down and watch saltburn. Thank god we decided to watch this just the two of us and not with his or my parents.

it’s the strangest film I’ve ever seen. I adore strange films and my previous weird film which I loved was ‘dogtooth’

this one really goes above that for strangest.

so tell me your weirdest. Strangest films you’ve ever seen!

PS. Has anyone else seen saltburn? What did you think?

I saw it last night
excellent film ,
didnt really have any idea what it was about , thought it was going to be like brides head revisited ,, how wrong I was 😂

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 27/12/2023 19:35

Mine was also the most disturbing- A Serbian Film. Never again

Ridingthegravytrain · 27/12/2023 19:37

I loved saltburn but can't quite put my finger on why. Weirdest film was killing of a sacred deer. Also with Barry keoghan

TooBigForMyBoots · 27/12/2023 19:37

Eraser Head.
Freaks.
And most recently Mother.

I loved them all. Will look out for Saltburn.

KrazyboutKillian · 27/12/2023 19:37

You may like an old film 2016
Nocturnal Animals , it is so menacing

Lottapianos · 27/12/2023 19:39

'I adore strange films and my previous weird film which I loved was ‘dogtooth’

One of my favourite films ever

Having seen Saltburn yet but from what I've read about it, I can understand your enormous relief at not watching it with either set of parents 😁

Flidina · 27/12/2023 19:39

I watched Saltburn last night, and turned it off after half an hour, it was such a strange film and bored me to death.

TooBigForMyBoots · 27/12/2023 19:40

Just checked and there are 2 films called Freaks. The one I love is the 1932 film.

Can't believe it's nearly 100 years old.Shock

HowDoYouSpellThat · 27/12/2023 19:42

Haha I watched Saltburn at the cinema with my MIL, tbh i found the 'sex' scenes so blatantly written to shock.
Theres some good Werner Herzog films that are pretty disturbing

Britpopbaby · 27/12/2023 19:42

Under the Silver Lake

LinnieM · 27/12/2023 19:43

Tusk has to be the weirdest film ever made

TheMildManneredMilitant · 27/12/2023 19:44

Under the Skin with Scarlet Johansson was pretty weird and unsettling.

Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar was completely nuts too in a different way.

Lastexmouse · 27/12/2023 19:44

Saltburn is weird , agree, but there are lots weirder.

Dream Scenario with Nicolas Cage which came out at the same time as Saltburn.

Men
Midsommar

Probably the weirdest was Lobster. Amazing cast, in a v weird film.

tinmrn · 27/12/2023 19:44

Rather different to saltburn but candy cane lane on prime was pretty odd!!!

Eyesopenwideawake · 27/12/2023 19:45

Watched Leaving The World Behind today. Dreadful. There's two+ hours of my life I won't get back 😠

CatalogueOnVinylFlooring · 27/12/2023 19:45

Dogville was a bit, out there!

NoMoreCheddar · 27/12/2023 19:46

Swiss Army Man is really weird, but also wonderful in a surreal way.

RainSteppes · 27/12/2023 19:48

I'm Thinking of Ending Things (Jesse Plemons)
Mother (Jennifer Lawrence)
The Lighthouse (Robert Pattinson)
Mandy (Nicolas Cage)

Proudmummy67 · 27/12/2023 19:48

The Lighthouse with Robert Pattinson.
Soooo weird!!

Kpo58 · 27/12/2023 19:49

Bringing Out the Dead is a pretty weird film.

GothConversionTherapy · 27/12/2023 19:54

My parents love stately homes so I almost suggested seeing it together ! Saw it by myself and cringed inside out.

Britpopbaby · 27/12/2023 19:54

Elvis and Annabelle

I worked in blockbuster many moons ago. I remember that filmed got banned….unbanned…..banned. For years this went in. I googled the synopsis and wished to god I didn’t…..

glad I never watched that one!

I watched Saltburn today and absolutely loved it. I was watching it by myself which came in handy during the 'worst' bits.
I watched Silent Night with Kiera Knightly last night and that is the most rubbish, pointless film I've ever sat through.

ColdAsIcepoles · 27/12/2023 19:56

I watched Saltburn today with both my parents and didn’t think it was actually that bad but a bit odd!
