Recommendations for a nice place to have lunch in Ashbourne or Bakewell, please

DH, I and another couple want to meet up for lunch just after New Year.
The best halfway locations for both couples looks like Ashbourne or (you're ahead of me here, I'm guessing) Bakewell.
We've only a superficial knowledge of both places - have had days out there but had quick lunches in cafes.
Could anyone recommend a pub or cafe/restaurant that's good for a chatty, unrushed lunch?
Thanks in advance Xmas Smile

The Woodyard in Bakewell is lovely.

Thank you!
I've Googled it and it really does look good Xmas Smile

Parking in Bakewell is a bit manic. I'd meet outside of Bakewell at one of the pubs on the Chatsworth Estate - either The Devonshire Arms Beeley or The Devonshire Arms Pilsley - both excellent, so you would need to book.

The Coach and Horses Fenny Bently

The Monsal Head is lovely, decent car parking and a lovely view over the viaduct. Lots of scope for an after lunch stroll as well

The Grouse and Claret at Rowsley?

Fantastic! Thank you all so much!
Looking forward to investigating these online.

Thanks again for the suggestions.
We ended up in Thorpe at The Old Dog as our friends had done a walk a couple of days before, popped in there and thought it was nice.
I'd definitely recommend it but would say that, if you're having a sandwich (I had a steak and onions one which came with a very nice peppercorn sauce), a side portion of chips would be a good idea.
Particularly taken by the friendliness of the staff.
We passed The Coach and Horses on the way, stolenstoat which also looked very nice.
