Russell Brand Dispatches - Many weeks on

Not a single things happened? I wonder if Chanel 4/ Dispatches are embarrassed. The amount of hype and work they put into it, and just the lack of anything that’s happened. It’s starting to feel a bit hit piecey in hindsight

Unless Russel has the best legal team in the world.

Said this at the time but the documentary wasn’t even that well done at all and felt like a bit of a stretch timewise.

Not sure why I I’m awake, or why this thought popped into my head at 1:15am and why I can’t go back to sleep now I’m thinking about it all

Things like this take a long time.

This was weeks ago though and he’s still posting YouTube videos daily it seems? But if they’re that bad why has he not been arrested? Or has he? Maybe I’m just a bit uneducated to the whole process then

It was three and a half weeks ago and the police say they have received multiple complaints of assault, in London and elsewhere. Investigating alleged historical crimes takes time.

Wouldn’t the police need to decide whether to investigate and then a detailed investigation and then whether there’s enough evidence to proceed? I’d hope they wouldn’t just immediately arrest, based on a TV programme, without having an in-depth understanding of what they’d be hoping to achieve and the planned direction.

I don’t think what’s made public at this point gives an indication either way. I would say though - in general - that not enough evidence to proceed with a criminal prosecution doesn’t mean that events didn’t occur.

DontBeAPrickDarren · 10/12/2023 01:35

And if platforms continue to allow him to post videos, that’s their lookout. It’s not a reflection of innocence or guilt. It’s about making money.

I guess they have to be careful too as he’s still alive. Wasn’t thinking about that aspect enough, Like Saville had passed hadn’t he when his allegations came out so maybe the laws are very different. That being said I’m still not convinced the amount they pushed this was proportionate. The article would have been enough I feel
