Bean to cup coffee machine for a novice

I’ve had several pod machines but never a bean to cup machine. I spend an absolute fortune on Nespresso pods and so looking for a new machine.

Budget ideally £500-800

i really like the look of this one - Sage the Barista Touch Machine, Bean to Cup Coffee Machine with Milk Frother, SES880BTR - Black Truffle https://amzn.eu/d/4cyHpdu
but some reviews say the aftercare service isn’t that good - it’s quite a large spend so I don’t want to be replacing it for several years!

The touch screen really appeals to me
for ease.

I’ve looked at delongi machines before as they seem to have good reviews.

I want to make americanos, lattes and cappuccinos. Needs to be easy to use.

Any recommendations please?

De Longhi Magnifica does for us.

I have that machine. I love it and it is very easy to use.

What I will say is I would recommend getting the silver one, not the black. I saw loads of examples of where the black paint scratched and chipped off leaving it looking tatty. The silver isn't painted so doesn't suffer the same fate.

Have never had to use the after sale support so cannot comment on that.

We also have the Delonghi Magnifica Evo and it’s great. You can usually get them for around £400. My only gripe is it’s very temperamental to descale. But super easy to use and feels straightforward to clean. It does everything you want it to, ie espresso, americano, and a milk frother.

We have Melitta Barista TS Smart, really pleased with it. We’ve had it 4 years now, no problems at all and it gets a lot of use.

I have the de longhi eletta, I love it, we don’t drink instant coffee any more, very easy to use, and if you like frothy milk it works excellently

Both DH and I have come back to this on our search.

One common thing I keep reading in the reviews of several machines is that the coffee isn’t hot. I like my coffee hot (and always warm my Nespresso).

I have the sage, it's brilliant and very easy to use, once you get the hang of it. Have had no issues with it, or regrets about such a large spend!

Does the sage make hot coffee?

Yes - I’ve put hot water in the tanks before and don’t know if it’s a coincidence but I think It makes the tanks spilt and leak.

Get a Delonghi Magnifica. Our has lasted 10 years and is so simple to use. Plus makes great coffee.

I’m happy with my delonghi magnifica, if you study the instruction book there’s a “hidden” way to adjust the temp iirc. Mine is hot enough now but I did fiddle with that setting.

We have the sage barista pro, the coffee is hot. You can adjust the temperature of the coffee and heat the milk as hot as you want. I believe on the touch you can set the temperature of the milk. The coffee is absolutely amazing, we bought from lakeland they have regular vouchers for 20% off and they have a 3 year guarantee.

Ours is a deLonghi Magnifica too. Might take a look but tbh it’s my husband who mainly drinks the coffee so he gets to choose the temp and I know he studied the manual very closely for all the various coffee strength and grind variables. The kettle hot water method is an OK solution.

Also I always order “extra hot” in coffee shops so I think I am an extreme case!
