Wembley stadium food and drink - M&S??

I've managed to snag a couple of Taylor Swift tickets on AXS, so will be going in August with my daughter. Never been to a concert before or to Wembley stadium.

As you can't take in any food and drink, I googled and saw there were two recent m&s food shops inside. Sounds perfect for buying a lot of snacks and drinks to camp out in our seats. But then saw these shops are on level 2, but we are level 5. So I assume we can't go to them? Why put them both on a limited level with fewer people?

Do the bars sell bottles of drinks and sweets/crisps? I'm driving so happy with snacks and sweets. Thanks

Popcorn & snacks, yeah, we were there 2 nights ago. BEER !

gotomomo · 03/12/2023 19:04

Eat plenty before going in, you can take in empty clear plastic water bottles (at least used to be able to) and there's water refill points. I have tickets for another venue and they aren't admitting that much before it starts so no need to camp out for long

You should be able to move between levels but a warning that it will be rammed with massive queues at popular food points so be prepared for a wait.

Yeah, this is why the thought of visiting one shop and getting everything in one hit is appealing!

You can’t enter level 2 at Wembley - it’s an entirely different entrance to the other tiers as it’s used for hospitality. I’ve been a few times (this year) and have never seen an M&S inside on any floor.

In your position I’d eat outside in the mall and then maybe buy snacks inside.

This is what I'd seen after googling.

Seems odd to put them both in an area inaccessible to a large proportion of attendees.

There’s plenty of places to get food on the way to the Stadium from outdoor places selling a variety of food to Nandos, Zizzis etc.,

MerryMarigold · 03/12/2023 19:41

My dad and son went football match recently. I think a hotdog was 8.00 and a small bottle of water 3.00

MerryMarigold · 03/12/2023 19:41

Just asked he said the hotdog was 10.00 'and it was rank'.

Torganer · 03/12/2023 19:44

Do you not have allocated seating?

Floralnomad · 03/12/2023 19:44

If you are in booked seats just eat before you go you don’t need to be there hours before the start and buy a drink inside , it’s not that long

greengreengrass25 · 03/12/2023 19:45

This business of not being able to bring g food in really rankles me.

It didn't used to be like this

rrra · 03/12/2023 19:48

Yes, we do have allocated seats. We will definitely have a meal before going in. But I know my daughter will need sweets or something to keep her going! I'll just hope I can get a few bits from the bar instead, thanks.

I know, right! I can understand no alcohol, but what's the issue with some sweets and a couple of drinks?

Wear a jacket with inside pockets and put some sweets in there.
Small Sainsbury's on Wembley way.

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/12/2023 19:51

I think it's an absolute rip off inside big venues. Personally I would eat before going in and after you come out.

lljkk · 03/12/2023 19:52

I took in a small bottle half full of water 2 nights ago, about 300 ml. My group had 2 pots of popcorn one of which was spilled everywhere, I kind of prefer no food brought in because I found the place so incredibly clean. The popcorn portion was huge !!

rrra · 03/12/2023 20:12

I guess I could put some sweets in my bra 🤣

Take smallish bag with lots of internal pockets. Wear combats. They will never search everywhere.

Why? What's wrong with your daughter that she can't cope without food for a couple of hours?

You might want to consider whether this is a healthy relationship with food.

🤣 the concert is over 3 hours long, plus the supporting act. A few sweets in such circumstances is hardly an eating disorder.

They will also take the lids off any bottles they sell you inside the stadium. As long as you pinky promise to not throw the full bottle I can recommend taking spare lids in your pocket so you can seal your drinks back up.

I'd take some sweets in your pockets too. Last time I went to Wembley they checked bags but not pockets.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 03/12/2023 21:24

I have got water bottles into gigs using a hoody with the kangaroo type pocket tied round my waist. Pocket facing inside......

GozerTheGozerian · 03/12/2023 21:38

There are loads of places to get food in Wembley stadium. I’m not saying it’s luxury cuisine but burgers, chips, hot dogs, fish and chips, pies plus sweets (pic and mix and bags), popcorn, candy floss etc.

it’s better to eat outside for a proper meal but you will find lots of snacks inside on all levels
