There are no rules about Googling! I'd say that the majority of the redactle puzzles I'd never 'crack' if I couldn't Google/check Wiki.

My strategy, if I can't work it out for myself, is to see if I've identified enough that I can Google - e.g. countries in Africa (making that one up!) - or if I have a long enough sentence to search for that in Wiki.
