... and so each day up until Christmas I will be bringing you a small scene from Playmoland. A kind of Playmobil advent calendar, with just a simple picture each day.

What's behind the door today?

Some snowmen which the children have made! Xmas Smile

What a wonderful & heart-warming thread, thank you so much! Look forward to the rest of the days in advent.🎄

trots off to look up your back catalog in Classics 😆

AutumnCrow · 07/12/2023 15:36

I hope Gustav hasn't hurt himself.

SoMuchToBits · 07/12/2023 16:12

No, Gustav hasn't hurt himself, and I'm sure he got Fritz back (although it might have been Akira or Johanna)...

Plucky little Gustav. I hope he enjoys his hot chocolate tonight and dreams of Christmas.

Loving this ‘Advent Calendar’ - look forward to seeing what the next one is.
Slightly concerned that your children need helmets and googles to snowball fight…is this the Christmas Elf and Safety?

SoMuchToBits · 07/12/2023 19:45

I think the helmets and goggles are meant for things like skiing and tobogganing, but I suppose they'll help to prevent head injuries from flying snowballs too! Xmas Grin

Oh and @GreatOak if you want to find any of my previous Playmo threads they aren't all in classics. Some of the more recent ones stayed in Chat, now that it doesn't automatically delete threads after 90 days any more.

But if you want to find them, just use the words "for the Playmobil people in our house" in your search. I always use those words in my thread titles to make them more easily searchable!

Do I recall the Puddingheads getting in to trouble for throwing snowballs with stones in them, or am I making that up?

SoMuchToBits · 07/12/2023 23:07

I think you might be imagining that @HomeCountyHome , although they have been responsible for many crimes, so not surprising that you thought of them! Xmas Grin

No elf on the shelf I see, good on you!

shinny · 08/12/2023 08:33

Your scenes are absolutely lovely and I’ve really enjoyed catching up on them as stumbled upon them this morning.

thank you for the time you spend making all of us smile 😃

SoMuchToBits · 08/12/2023 09:20

No elf on the shelf @LlynTegid ! It wasn't really a thing when ds was a child, so we never got into doing that. So the only elves you'll see are those that were helping Father Christmas in his workshop the other day... Xmas Smile

Poinsettias never survive in my house (probably the wrong temperature) so it’s good to see two lovely healthy ones in Playmoland!

SoMuchToBits · 08/12/2023 10:32

Ah yes, @petalpower Playmobil poinsettias definitely have the advantage of being very difficult to kill off... Xmas Wink

Poinsettias - beautiful.

As an aside, kudos to the person who has been living their best life with the hoover.

Cream carpets are tricky.

SoMuchToBits · 08/12/2023 11:09

Haha, the "cream carpet" Is supposed to be a generalised "snowy" background for the whole advent calendar! I never got round to doing separate floorings for the indoor type scenes... Xmas Grin

Oh how cheerful. I love a plant at Christmas- it's a great reminder of the Spring to come.

I’m having that.

What a lovely way to think of things fuzzy 😊

When it comes to my birthday, I treat it as being ‘half way out of the dark’ ✨

Love it!
My birthday is at the end of January and although that is mostly rubbish (!) I do like to think of it as the time when I begin to notice the lengthening of the days. The world will soon be turning to the light.

ArcaneWireless · 08/12/2023 13:51

There is something beautiful about all of the seasons but lengthening days and spring springing is quite possibly my favourite. New life everywhere.

Just not a poinsettia. I’ve never managed to keep them happy sadly.

SoMuchToBits · 08/12/2023 15:54

I'm afraid my birthday is in November, when the days are still getting darker! But once you get into December I'm usually very busy, and there are lights everywhere, so it's all ok. What I really need to do is a kind of advent calendar but for January, when I really could do with something cheerful! Xmas Smile

YES PLEASE!!!!

SoMuchToBits · 08/12/2023 16:20

@FuzzyPuffling I'll have a think! I probably wouldn't be able to start anything from the beginning of January as will be quite busy up until the New Year. But maybe something a little later in the month...

OP posts:
SqueakyDinosaur · 08/12/2023 19:26

Maybe the Playmobil people will make foolish resolutions for the New Year, and break them in spectacular fashion throughout January?
