He’s basically paid his way out of a rape charge… Thoughts?

I think it's harder to get away from a rich abusive man vs poor abusive man. Because a rich abusive man can pay for a lot of things to make a woman's life miserable vs a man who can't afford anything. But, abuse is definitely not about the money. Plenty of women on mumsnet who are in abusive relationships for years with a man who doesn't work.

Poor girl, I saw the footage, it's heartbreaking. I can't even imagine how hard it was for her. I understand why she took the money instead of a trial. Only because she was with him, it doesn't mean she actually had any kind of money in her own bank account.

The fact that he paid a settlement is proof he was afraid to lose the trial. Otherwise, why would he pay her? The video is proof he was very violent.

He’s disgusting and should be in prison but I also understand why she settled. Everyone knows what he is now and she doesn’t have to go through a trial.

Now we as a teenager looks terrified of him.

Yeah I believe so. And the police have the tapes they seized, of secret footage he recorded in his houses to blackmail people, so they have that evidence too.
