Cake decorators, can I have a bit of help thinking this through, please?

I want to somehow stand this image behind a tiny grand piano and mini Adele I've painted, for dd2's birthday cake.

If I get the image printed on an icing sheet, do you have any idea how I might stand it as the backdrop of the stage cake?

Thank you for any help!

Yes, you could use some edible glue and attach it to drinking straws. You might need to stick half a dozen in to provide sufficient support and it might have to be tilted very slightly backwards. Generally though I find that printed icing sheets are quite stable. An alternative would be to have it printed onto rice paper which is even more rigid. The only slight downside is that you will see a slight mark where it is glued to the straws. That said, you would need less straws to support it and will probably get away with one at either end.

I was just typing to say fan out wooden skewers and glue them to the back with icing.

Oh! Thank you so much. Now it's been said, it's so obvious!

I'll order the icing now I know it can be done.

I would mount the icing sheet onto fondant, cut it out and leave for several days to harden. You might still need some support but mine usually stand themselves sitting on a little bed of buttercream

Cocktail sticks are very good.

I am back again, is there a particular edible glue anyone would recommend over others?

If your cake is square then you could attach your icing image to a thin cake board and secure it behind your cake!
