Acupuncture for knee pain - has anyone had it?

Has anyone had this, and did it work? My partner has knee pain at the moment, and is due a scan at some point. An xray has ruled out anything that would be obvious on an xray so further investigation needed. In the meantime, it's really affecting his day to day life.

I'm wondering if in the meantime it might be worth trying acupuncture. But am interested to hear from anyone that's had it.

I'm currently being treated by an osteopath for knee pain. Two treatments so far and I have seen a vast improvement. Plus I have exercises to do every day to improve my knee strength. Many osteopaths offer acupuncture too (mine does) but I'm not keen on acupuncture so declined that treatment.

I had acupuncture for the first time yesterday, along with some physio (on my shoulder)..she warned me it would be sore and yes, it is, but the range of movement is better already. So it's (very) early days for me, but so far so good!!

Thank you for your responses. @Panicmode1 - it's good to hear that your range of motion has improved, I do hope it continues to get even better.

@thinkfast - do you mind me asking what your diagnosis is? Do you have to be referred to an osteopath?

If you wanted to see an osteopath on the NHS you'd need a referral, and I don't know whether that's something routinely offered. I see one who was recommended to my husband by the GP, but we pay privately.

I've been diagnosed by the osteopath with a damaged ligament and small bursitis.

Yes it did fuck all. I second an osteopath
