Pharmacy queues

Are Pharmacies woefully understaffed? It seems that i can't go in one eithout there being a huge , very slow moving queue.

The one attached to my GP - I can request a repeat prescription on the app. Did mine Monday last week at 8am. Just went in, massive queue of people who have turned up to collect their repeats but none of them done, so the staff are sorting through a "pile" to do there and then.

Had to go to 4 different pharmacies to find eye drops for DS, every one has the sane going on.

My local Boots is very slow too. Went in last week to pick up prescription that was ready. Only 2 people in front of me, though I'd be in and out in 5 minutes, it took about 20.

She served one prescription person then sloooowly moved over and served a couple of over the counter customers, then like a snail back to the next prescription customer. She just didn't give a shit at all. When she finally served me she asked my date of birth and asked if I was 'Mr x'. I'm clearly a woman.

I have noticed the counter staff are slow. It's like they don't want to be there. Yeah, they are on minimum pay. So what? Most people are. They still do their job properly!

One woman came into my Boots store the other day and asked for a package she had ordered to go there. The woman serving (the ONLY woman!) said 'I will see if it's in the back,' and then buggared off. 4-5 minutes she took. Then she came back and said 'sorry it's not there. I will look on the computer to see where it is'

Then she faffed about for about 2-3 minutes, logging in and pissing about. Then she called over to another woman who was stacking the shelves by me, and said 'can I just borrow you a minute blah blah blah.' Was TWELVE fucking minutes it was before I was served.

The woman stacking the shelves could have served me. She saw me standing there like a fucking lemon for about 7-8 minutes before the other woman called her over to help this other customer. Useless. And poor customer service. Not uncommon in Boots sadly.

As has been said, I don't recall it being like this before the pandemic.

Before the pandemic we were in the EU.

It's since the Brexit bongs.

And will get worse if the government ever do "take back control of our borders" and check what's coming in.

My little town has 2 chemists. I had to move from one as it couldn't even get my basic inhaler last year. The 2nd one is better but even they have gone down hill recently.
I left my prescription a few days thinking this would be decent amount of time for them to get it.
When I went in they hadn't made it up and came to tell me with suprise that they didn't have 2 of the items but could order them in.
It seems that is the missing link either time or staffing to have looked at my script 3 days prior and ordered what they were short of?
So in the end it was over a week.
And then you hear these stupid ads everywhere pushing us to ask our pharmacies for medical help ha! Mine wouldn't even advise on a bad wasp sting that had gone a bit manky what cream to use, sent me to the GP.
