What's your little extravagance?

Maybe a guilty pleasure or something you don't strictly need to pay for but you really appreciate the impact of it.

Recently, paying to skip the security queue at a certain nightmare airport is fucking heaven. It seems ridiculous to me to spend £5 on it but i've had stressful queuing experiences where I thought we might miss our flight. Swanning past the queue is bliss but a bit naughty because it costs me nothing to wait in line.

My peloton. I just love it!

GigiAnnna · 27/10/2023 15:00

Doxy wand. Strictly speaking it's out my price range but I consider it essential now.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/10/2023 15:16

I've just booked for someone to come and clean my oven so I don't have to do it. Bliss.

Do they do electric hobs and the glass in the door and how will do they do it? I don’t want any scrubbing scratchy marks. Have wanted to do this but I am very particular about this!

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 27/10/2023 15:47

Definitely my cleaner. I love her.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/10/2023 15:50

@LearningTo Mine will do hobs yes (they're also cleaning my extractor fan). They only use natural cleaning products according to their website but they're not due to come until next week so I can't yet comment on what they do with the glass I'm afraid. They will clean it though.

KevinDeBrioche · 27/10/2023 15:58

Yes to cleaner! Mine also changes and washes all the bed sheets. Absolute bliss.

Good wine. Not loads, but a glass or two at the weekend is delicious.

Please come back and share how it went!

Gel polish on my toes - hardly any one else sees them, but I feel it gives me a boost when I see my feet looking nice.
Upgrading to first-class on trains (if I am travelling solo). I don't care about meals or snacks. I just like being able to stretch out in relative peace without sitting next to strangers.

LearningTo · 27/10/2023 16:17

Strawberry cream tequila
Perfume
Naice shower gel and lotion
Naice face mask

TheWayTheLightFalls · 27/10/2023 16:20

Breakfast out once a week, by myself.

DelphiniumBlue · 27/10/2023 16:25

Coffee bags from

Goldmember · 27/10/2023 16:35

Freshly ground coffee every morning. The bean to cup machine was not cheap and I normally prefer a cup of tea but I really love a nice coffee first thing and mine are the best - no coffee shop can compare. If it's sunny I'll sit in the conservatory and pretend I'm abroad 😀

Facefortheradio · 27/10/2023 16:35

Mine is San Pellegrino sparkling water. I rarely drink alcohol so push the boat on this.

BreathingDeep · 27/10/2023 16:39

What a glorious thread. My extravagances are:

Latte at home made with hazelnut coffee pods and Jersey milk - the best way to start the day or perk up a morning.
Audible subscription so I can listen to a new book every month.
Fresh flowers.
Great skincare.
L'occitane Almond shower oil - makes something as functional as a shower more enjoyable.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 27/10/2023 16:40

A monthly massage.
I also buy flowers for the house every pay day.

menopausalmare · 27/10/2023 16:40

Spare cash goes on garden plants and pinot grigio.

OldTinHat · 27/10/2023 16:45

My cleaner.
Being able to get a free carer's ticket to places I wouldn't be able to go to on my own.
Snappy Shopper and their 1p bundle deals.

NutellaEllaElla · 27/10/2023 16:45

Yes the occasional massage is a wonderful extravagance I sometimes treat myself to.

This is really silly, but colourful pasta from like TK Max. It's just happier than plain coloured pasta. And the more unusual the shape, the better.

(I had to pay for a disabled access card to allow free carer tickets, was an extravagance to me!)

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 27/10/2023 16:50

Singing lessons. I've had them for 4 years now and it's the single best thing I have ever done for me. I love that I can sing.

jellytots18 · 27/10/2023 16:51

Spotify premium

Petrine · 27/10/2023 16:53

Perfume and flowers

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 27/10/2023 16:55

On holiday I pay for private transfers from the airport, I’m on package holidays but I cannot face a coach ride post flight with two kids- Sod’s Law we would always be the last drop off
