Cyst on ultrasound scan

Hi everyone anyone who knows more I had a ultrasound scan because my periods have been irregular but now it's better they said I have cyst on my ovaries however my blood test doesn't show Pcos what could this mean doctor said she's not saying it's Pcos bec blood test doesn't confirm it but she said 2 other things are which are the cyst and irregular period so i'm confused what if some people are different

It's normal to get cysts on your ovaries without having PCOS. They often come and go by themselves - I've had them picked up on ultrasounds in pregnancy and then at some point they've disappeared by themselves. Your doctor should be able to tell what kind of cyst it is from the scan itself. Most women will get cysts without ever knowing they're there.

I had an unclear diagnosis of PCOS in my earlu 20s.

Poly means 'many' in so many cysts is needed for a diagnosis on the scan.

Later on during an early pregnancy scan in had one cyst which disappeared by the next scan. Sonographer said these are usual.

Have a look at the NICE guidelines for PCoS as there you will find the diagnosis guidelines.

I had one that vanished
Back at gynae tomorrow as I now have a load more and they look like endometriosis ones
