Halal party food

Having a little get together over half term for DC and a couple of friends. One new friend who we've not hosted before - dietary requirement Halal.

Was going to serve some cakes and then pizza for tea - home made dough & sauce and mozzarella. If I avoid meat/pork, alcohol and sweets like marshmallows that may contain gelatin, is there anything else I need to consider?

TIA

White wine vinegar is halal same as Cider vinegar. They are not alcoholic anymore.

Most vanilla essence are ok just check the back.

Just Roll pastry has alcohol in it so if you are baking something with ready-made pastry use the supermarket own brand.

Poundland do a lot of veggie sweets aswell as Aldi and Lidl.

All fish is halal and doesn't need to be specially slaughtered so tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches is a good party food, smoked salmon and cream cheese.

I would categorically refuse! Halal is so cruel and against my beliefs. Just go for veggie stuff that doesn’t need to be halal certified

All the supermarkets stock a huge range of vegan products including sweets and marshmallows. M&S are pretty good.

Do please highlight what in the OP’s suggested menu is cruel?

There's always one that's offended, isn't there..!

OP check that the mozzarella you're buying got for the pizza is veggie.
