Vacuum cleaners - boring question I know

I just wondered if anyone has recommendations for a really good cordless vacuum cleaner that is good on hard floors and carpets, and to cope with pet hair. I don't really want to spend too much as the downstairs of the house is LVT so most hoovers pick up easy on that but we do have carpets upstairs that are quite old so take a decent hoover to get them looking ok. Our Miele pet hair vac has given up!!

If cordless no good then lightweighted corded recommendations would be much appreciated!

Thank you

What dog do you have? I have an Akita which if you google Akita shedding gives you some idea of the floof the titan can handle.

If your going to bin your meile I’d be tempted to pull it apart strip it down clean everything
lose of suction can only be
blocked filters or the fan that makes the suction has some of the blades missing or worn no a major job to replace it

This, but if you don't feel confident doing it, Miele will do a service on it for you. It was about £90 5yrs ago, which isn't cheap, but is much cheaper than a new Miele, and was very convenient as they collected it and delivered it back to us.

Alaskan malamute so probably similar floofiness.

I have a shark cordless but I'm not very impressed with it - it was great at first but after 2 years it's lost suction. We have a spare battery and I do clean it!
I also have a bush lightweight corded vacuum which cost about £30 from Sainsbury's. It's far better than the shark.

We have a shark corded. Absolutely useless when we had labrador hair to content with, the tubes blocked (never had that with any vacuum before) and also poor pickups on hard floors. Keeps falling over when using on stairs and the motorised stair head is weak/useless for pet hair. How the tools/wand are disconnected from the body of the machine is well designed but that is the only good thing to say about it.

Now our dog is gone (😔) it is just about passable as it doesn't need to do much but I wouldn't buy again.
