I want to do something to help Jewish people in the UK.

Can anyone recommend a good Jewish charity please?

@flashbac Are you also the individual
whom says ‘what about men?’ On women’s rights threads? Or ‘what about the billionaires, they’re taxed too hard?’ When discussing a food bank?

please consider your clearly deep rooted anti-semitism and why you’re using whataboutery to minimise Jewish pain. In living memory we were massacred. It is proven when people say ‘kill the Jews’, they really do. Are you as equally concerned by the blockade on Kashmir or is it just Jews you hate?

@flashbac because she wants too and it's none of your business.

Is there any reason you want to specifically donate to Jewish charities (especially given the death toll of Palestinians is far more)? Israel is getting huge amounts of aid and yet all supplies, power and even water has been cut off from Gaza. Feels like you believe certain lives are more worthy?

There are about 16 million Jews in the world. There are over 1.8 billion Muslims.

Perhaps she likes to support the underdog, or the minority group.

Perhaps she wants to feel that she's doing what she can to prevent a second Shoah.

Perhaps it's just her choice. If someone donates to cancer research, do you ask them why they don't value people with motor neurone disease? If someone donates to homelessness charities, do you ask why they value homeless people more than those with cystic fibrosis?

Or is it just donating to Jews that bothers you?

Because she wants to support the victims of Hamas's atrocity. That's her choice. This thread is supportive and kind towards the victims of last weeks nightmare, and people want to show their support for the Jewish community.

I like the previous posters idea of writing to local synagogues I will do this. I have checked in with my Jewish friend. Really wish there was something helpful I could do.
I will have a look at those charities. Thank you for this post

That's like saying 'why are you donating to x disease charity when more people die of z disease?' Please go elsewhere if you support the atrocities (if you justify their actions) that Hamas committed. It's heartbreaking that so many innocent Israelis were raped and murdered by a terrorist group. It's disturbing that so many people think this is justified. This should be a supportive thread.

Thank you for ideas about Jewish charities to donate to, I wondered if there are any specific charities in Israel that offer counselling or mental health support to the victims of Saturday's atrocities. Also is there anything that you recommend I can do to support the Jewish community in the Uk

Hi, here are a few charities in Israel that focus specifically on mental health and trauma. I don't know a lot about these charities (the ones I listed above are the 'big' ones) but these have all been vetted and are legitimate. Many of them offer help to all of those traumatised regardless of their background, ethnicity, religion etc.
