Well that wasn't much fun.
Finally got a hit with 664 (guess 230!) and then a bit later got 994, and got it from the clues here.

I found #cemantle #561 in 270 guesses!

@Friolero is 664 helpful? I have that and 324 but not sure if I'm on the right path as I can't seem to get another hit, since you managed from the same word, just wondering if it's related?

semantlename · 17/10/2023 10:42

(I don't know much about the 60s, I know of one medical scandal and the odd thing but since my parents weren't even born for half of it, and I'm awful with history, I have no clue what the hints above allude to, I have been trying to Google)

Friolero · 17/10/2023 10:43

@semantlename think of somewhere currently involved in a 664. The target is part of what this was called in the past.

@semantlename think of a chilly 664

semantlename · 17/10/2023 10:56

Thank you both!!!

Probably wouldn't have gotten there. Especially looking at the top words.

I even tried cold 664 when going for a Hail Mary!

Thanks @PuttingDownRoots finally got.it from your chilly 664 clue 🤣

Edited because of a spoiler. Don't look if you don't want to see it 🙈

Tried to edit my post to made it a bit less obvious but the web page keeps taking me to the app where I can't do it!

Either way, it's an awful day for it. People will probably appreciate the help.

IOweMySanityToBasilParsley · 17/10/2023 11:02

I've just put the actual word in and had to edit. I think today, people will be glad of the clue. Its horrid

ApolloandDaphne · 17/10/2023 11:35

I'm not getting anywhere even with the clues.

LulooLemon · 17/10/2023 11:50

I'm not getting it either. Can't seem to post a pic, but I have:

997
995
994
989
981
972
968
936
908
900

Any clues please?

LulooLemon · 17/10/2023 11:58

Oh, I have it

ApolloandDaphne · 17/10/2023 12:03

Here is my list. I'm not getting it from the clues although I understand what they are getting at.

Somewhere had a 759, can you think about that?

ApolloandDaphne · 17/10/2023 12:14

SheilaFentiman · 17/10/2023 12:07

Somewhere had a 759, can you think about that?

Edited

I think I need a more direct and obvious clue. I've done masses of reading and am now possibly a world expert in 664 and 994! I can find no words that are target.

SheilaFentiman · 17/10/2023 12:22

Who were important in a well known 664?

SheilaFentiman · 17/10/2023 12:23

It’s a word that you know but that you might not think is valid

InMySpareTime · 17/10/2023 12:26

Something very intrinsic to the topic had a four word name, it's the second word, though they'd spell it with a C that's not a C.

OP posts:
InMySpareTime · 17/10/2023 12:29

Their 759 was anti-732

OP posts:
BasilParsley · 17/10/2023 12:43

@ApolloandDaphne think of 994 and the 1960s. There was a lot of tension surrounding it between two parties - it was indeed a chilly time as someone previously mentioned. Think about who those two parties were.

PuttingDownRoots · 17/10/2023 12:52

@ApolloandDaphne

it is a very common word... but the first letter is usually upper case...

WhatICallMyUsername · 17/10/2023 14:15

WTAF I am 350 guesses in and haven't had a hit yet 🤣🤣🤣

ApolloandDaphne · 17/10/2023 14:51

Is it something related to the CMC or am I away wrong in this?

WhatICallMyUsername · 17/10/2023 14:54

Whoop I have 613! This is already my worst ever and I've only got one hit!
