Ulcers on tongue- 5yo and me

DD has some painful ulcers on her tongue and I have some too. I can’t see any NHS or other online advice about anything that would cause ulcers in both of us. Any experience of this?

I have them too just now and so do a couple of my colleagues. We wondered if its part of the virus doing the rounds just now

There is a 'hands, foot and mouth' type virus that is just mouth. My dd had it - it was horrible. She didn't eat for a week.
