Should I visit Keswick or Cockermouth?

I only have time for one of them as I'm visiting a few other places too. Which has more shops/museums/things to do?

TIA

Keswick

Keswick.

OK Keswick is busy but there's a huge amount to do. Lake/boats/mini golf/shops galore for kagools/art etc. Great park and the museum next to the park is surprisingly delightful. And there's the pencil museum (if desperate on a rainy day).

And buy hot nuts from the man who has a stall. The cashew ones are yum.

Sorry to say Cockermouth is dull in comparison, which is why it's quieter. And not good for shops sadly.

If you want things to do/ visit then def Keswick

Keswick is lovely

Keswick, unless you specifically need to go to a budget supermarket. Cockermouth is nice, but it's a place people live rather than a place people visit.

Keswick though be aware it can be a little bit busy sometimes. The pencil museum is well worth a visit though! I know that sounds dull but honestly it's really good lol!

We go to Keswick a lot and spent a night in Cockermouth earlier this summer - was pleasantly surprised. It's a pretty little place and there's a fab Middle Eastern restaurant. There seemed to be some interesting little shops too. It's far less touristy than keswick. Do love Keswick though but tbh as a walking base.
