Stansted airport for an early flight?

Have a 6.30am flight out if Stansted at the weekend. The travel company have told me I must be there at 4am because it will be exceedingly busy. Anyone been recently? I’ve already got my boarding pass and booked seats, it’s just bag drop and security.

Flew last week on a 6.30 from Stansted, we got there by 4am and the queues at bag drop and security were quite long, although we didn't have hold luggage and paid for fast track security so had time for a quick breakfast before our flight was called.

Also do remember that the gates can be quite far away and sometimes involve the mono-rail too.

I recommend the escape lounge there - costs about £35 pp but you get a table, free food and drink for 3 hrs - somewhere much quieter than the zoo that can be outside!

Went through this morning - a bit later than you for a 8am flight. Ryanair bag drop was a complete zoo, EasyJet’s was empty (we were easyJet). Security busy but efficient - we were through in about 15mins.

I was there last week for a 6.10am flught - no luggage. Got to airport at 3.45am and cleared security swiftly so had ages to mooch about and get to the gate.

Flew at 6am last month. Did fast track for security and queues were average in the regular queue. Worst part was trying to find breakfast so definitely recommend a lounge!

It's very busy. Every flight I've taken there has been 6-6.30am (annoyingly)

Oh and the queue for coffee was horrendous (I take pain au chocolat with me!)

We flew 22nd July got there at 5.15 for 9am flight because of traffic etc and bag drop etc was very quick
