Dc drank rainwater

Are they going to be sick?

They were cooped up at home all day so when it finally stopped raining they went into the garden.

Rain had collected in the front loader bit of a toy tractor (if that's the technical term!). They were playing with it with some outdoor kitchen utensils.

Eldest was pretending to drink it with a cup and then mistakenly drank some. He said he spat it out but I'm sure I heard a gulp.

Little one was using a strainer spoon that she kept putting to her mouth, so she didn't drink any as such but would have licked quite a bit.

Could they get sick from this?

Are you serious?

Probably better for them than what comes out of tap!

This was my first thought, how rubbish is that! The water companies in the UK are a disgrace.

I caught DS drinking from the bird bath when he was two, he’s survived to be eight.

My DD drank from the cat’s water bowl regularly as a toddler.

She’s not had an apparent issues and is a healthy 22 year old who is never ill. 😁

Thats how immunity is built up OP!

They’ll be fine, our toddler recently drank from a bucket in a goat enclosure, so yeah, rain water from a toy is more than ideal.

We live in Australia (rural but within 20 minutes of the city centre of a state capital) and are not on mains water. We have 2 25000 litre tanks in our garden that provide all our drinking/cooking/washing/garden water. It is unfiltered and we have never been ill from it, it is very normal here! I must admit, when we first moved here I was a bit suspicious of it and we had a brita jug in the fridge but soon got over that! When we go away to places on mains water we really notice the chemically taste, and it's much less good for our skin and hair too. So don't worry, it will be fine!

As long as it didn't run over anything before it got into the mouth it's as pure as it comes.

If it came off a roof and/or down a gutter, less so. Pigeon crap springs to mind.

Sorry to be the odd opinion.

Mine were doing watersports in a lake yesterday. Lots of children do... and the sea!
