Natural beauty or makeup?

What do you prefer 😊 for me it has got to be natural ❤️

Natural. I don’t like the caked on contoured look, with lips like a fish.

Comedycook · 28/07/2023 08:08

Make up

Not necessarily heavy make up though.

Very few women look better with absolutely no make up. Most look better with some mascara or under eye concealer or more defined brows.

I like makeup, it's fun to play with different looks and colours. I don't really care what other people do with their faces.

Definitely makeup, love experimenting with colour and my making features pop. It's also my "look"

Wheresmyrobe · 28/07/2023 08:20

Why is it always natural or 'caked'. Do people not realise that you can use make-up to enhance the way you look without full coverage, contour etc.

I think you should wear what makes you happy and leave others to do the same. It really annoys me when 'natural' people look down on others for wearing makeup that makes them feel good about themselves.

LizaTarbuckForQueen · 28/07/2023 08:48

I agree - why does this have to be so binary?

Sometimes I wear a full face of make up, sometimes natural, sometimes none (apart from brows. Always brows).

I look great with each and every one. So do other women.

bookworm44 · 28/07/2023 10:00

I hate the idea of make up. If my face isn't good enough the way it is then too bad!!

Summer2424 · 28/07/2023 10:25

Defo natural!💃

Newshoess · 28/07/2023 10:28

Make up. My skin isn't that clear and I have dark circles. I like having foundation on at least! People often ha e the wrong shade of foundation on and it looks odd. Night look make up is today's day time. Make up was better 10 years ago.

Creatingspace · 28/07/2023 10:29

I hate questions like this. As someone with a skin condition please stop. Some of us have no choice but to wear make up and would love to be a 'natural beauty' but unfortunately are not that lucky!

Mummysalwaysright · 28/07/2023 10:33

I always wear a small amount of makeup, perhaps a bit more if going out for the evening or if doing someting special. Never "caked" though - that isn't a good look!

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 28/07/2023 10:33

Well done make up is an art form - and not something I am capable of doing, so I just stick to the basics 🤣

Badly done makeup is not a look I would go for - I like to make sure my skin prep is as perfect as it can be to achieve a flawless base, I would rather go to an event bare faced than cakey.

I think some people slap far too much on, in entire the wrong order, and it just gives a horrid, muddy look.

People need to consider their undertones more too, when picking foundation and concealer shades.

I am in awe of anyone who can do full glam properly

beguilingeyes · 28/07/2023 11:00

I am blonde and very pale. With no make-up at all I look washed out. I have blonde eyelashes and eyebrows so even a little eyeliner and mascara makes a huge difference. I always think it's much easier to go without make-up if you're brunette and have darker features.

Funny I don't see anything in the OP about caked on makeup or fish lips.

NotAMug · 28/07/2023 12:35

Make up, obviously not OTT caked on but I can honestly say I have never met anyone who looks better with no make up at all.

HappiDaze · 28/07/2023 12:44

I love applying makeup. It's very natural for the day and I'll amp it up for a night out

I wouldn't dream of going to work without make up on. It looks very unprofessional.

HappiDaze · 28/07/2023 12:45

When I'm at home I never wear makeup

MaidOfSteel · 28/07/2023 12:56

More natural than lots of make-up, in my case.

My skin is quite clear so I don't often wear foundation but, as happens in middle age, my brows are badly thinning and my eyes don't stand out at all any more. I always use a brow pencil and eyeliner, sometimes with mascara.

I always remember a post I read on here a few years ago, along the lines of 'without a little make up my face looks like a potato.' And it's true!

ZolaBudd · 28/07/2023 12:57

masses. Should be law Everyone caked in it

I work in a bakery so wouldn't be good for me to wear it as it would melt off

GettingStuffed · 28/07/2023 13:20

I only wear makeup when I'm out out. However I don't really look much different

LadyVictoriaSponge · 28/07/2023 13:20

Make up for sure, most people look better with some make up than without and it doesn’t mean ‘caking’ yourself in it.

Natural beauty or makeup?
Comedycook · 28/07/2023 13:26

There's not a single woman in the world who looks better without mascara

Comedycook · 28/07/2023 14:04

Also when most people say they prefer natural they mean natural make up not totally bare faced

Peony654 · 28/07/2023 14:07

I prefer natural looking make up - with a lifetime of acne I feel more comfortable with some BB cream and bit of concealer. I'm very fair so also look a million times better with mascara!
