Love this one

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2023 21:18

Daniel! Bless

JayAlfredPrufrock · 25/06/2023 21:18

I don’t even like him but for some reason I cried when Benny and the Jets started 🙄

I don’t think Elton’s crowd is going to surge anywhere. Except perhaps to the loos after an hour because their bladder control isn’t what it was 20 years ago.

Tena have a special stand on the way in

starting glastonbury rumours

Appalonia · 25/06/2023 21:19

I saw EJ when he popped up as a surprise guest during Prince's residency at the O2. I was gobsmacked at how powerful his voice was, he sang Long and Winding Road by the Beatles, with Prince on piano. Very special. Really glad his voice is in fine form tonight, this must be quite special for him.

littlbrowndog · 25/06/2023 21:16

Still a great showman

He’s better tonight than when I saw him in the late 80s!!!

JobzaGoodun · 25/06/2023 21:14

I saw QOTSA live earlier this week and they were IMMENSE

They're awesome live aren't they?

I've only seen them once, ten long years ago.

littlbrowndog · 25/06/2023 21:20

I don’t like his voice so much but as a songwriter and showman he is top 🐐

Appalonia · 25/06/2023 21:20

I'm a bit tearful too ( must be the wine...sniff)

Rattus1 · 25/06/2023 21:20

QOTSA immense in Cardiff on Friday. As the next Mrs Homme I feel duty bound to switch over asap..

MurielThrockmorton · 25/06/2023 21:21

I don't think i received any crowd surging measures, but it's a while since I've been. This was after Glastonbury, 2000 amp.theguardian.com/uk/2000/oct/14/jeevanvasagar1 - an estimated 100,00 extra people, it didn't feel dangerous at any of the stages, but it was quite difficult getting through the pinch points of gates between stages

I love Daniel. That would be my karaoke song.

So did I but I know why - when I was a child my dad was a huge fan and used to sing it. Badly. He's still alive but soundtrack of my childhood and all that.

NoisyBrain · 25/06/2023 21:22

ooh my favourite EJ song!

viques · 25/06/2023 21:22

He is sounding good, a lot better than Macca! I was doing some YouTube surfing this afternoon and came across an amazing video, Elton, Tina and Cher on stage belting out Proud Mary. From a while ago ,Tina and Cher looked as they always do but Elton was remarkably young.

wow, views of the crowd are amazing, they must all be there, makes you wonder who is looking after the tents! Have to say I am loving the playlist so far.

Same for me. Part of my childhood

AlecTrevelyan006 · 25/06/2023 21:23

Fair play - he's giving the people want they want

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2023 21:23

I'm crying too
Love this song so much

NooNakedJacuzziness · 25/06/2023 21:23

I thought he'd finish with this one

prettycolours · 25/06/2023 21:23

God that crowd is crazy. Imagine being right in the middle and needing a wee.

Elton sounds really good tonight, better than I was expecting tbh

Appalonia · 25/06/2023 21:23

I've cried a few times during this Glasto and I think it's cos pp seem so polarised atm and it's been really lovely seeing thousands of pp from a cross section of society just united by music. Really moving.
