Happily for me, I watched Loyle Carner instead. Way more engaging.

vegantubbycustard · 25/06/2023 00:38

He? Naked titty lady gal? Lol.

Jellykat · 25/06/2023 00:38

Oh right shes now identifying as he, whys he covered his nips then?

My local male builder doesnt stick plasters over his nips when hes topless on a hot day..

arghtriffid · 25/06/2023 00:39

Kurt Cobain loathed GNR - not sure what he'd make of Dave being an honorary member! Nice to see we all chill out with age I suppose

So did I. Loved Nivana, Pantera, Soungarden etc but GNR blew me away this evening!

longtompot · 25/06/2023 00:39

My dh saw GnR at Donington Monsters of Rock back in 1988. He said they were absolutely awesome but the crowd was scary when they surged forwards and sadly two people lost their lives. He said the crowd were pissing into bottles and then throwing them into the crowd.

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2023 00:41

Ahh I see. Set the nips free Chris BiscuitBiscuit

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 25/06/2023 00:43

Gawd knows. Hope it doesn't hurt when they're ripped off.

I was there but thankfully further back. The bottles thing used to be a Donington regular, unfortunately.

847arc · 25/06/2023 00:54

And yes, they were awesome!

tobee · 25/06/2023 00:58

So watching Rick doing his Smiths karaoke on catch up. It's very good.

Watched most of Lana and FatBoy earlier - excellent.

Dave Grohl now lives in a little shed on Worthy Farm. Available to pop out when required

Womencanlift · 25/06/2023 00:58

So there is talk of two female headliners next year. Taylor Swift is likely to be one of them. Any thoughts on the other one?

oakleaffy · 25/06/2023 01:04

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 24/06/2023 23:09

That's just his awesomeness seeping out.

Absolutely!

Absolutely to the ''Awesomeness seeping out'' not the other thing.

Give him a shout for the milking in the morning

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2023 01:13

That little toddler with Central Cee was gorgeous

StewPots · 25/06/2023 01:24

Just finished watching it on catch up! Fucking A-amazing!!! I’ve never seen much of them live but I was massively impressed and was singing / moshing along for perhaps the whole thing 🤣🤘

I cried my eyes out at Lewis’ set earlier. His struggles with tics were evident but he tried so hard to carry on - but it was absolutely beautiful to see the crowd support him, show him the love he needs at the moment, and let him know that it was ok if he couldn’t finish. They’d do it for him. I was sobbing behind a cushion so OH wouldn’t see 🤣

Also, caught up with the Foo Fighters set too - again, just phenomenal! Which is a given, since Dave, like Slash, is to be absolutely worshipped as a rock and roll God!

Loved Lizzo as well - fantastic vocal range and fabulous set and dancers. Looking forward to Elton tomorrow.

Have to say, didn’t bother with the AMs as I think they’re very overrated anyway and so I de like they were shite. Can’t believe they got a headline gig over Foo Fighters!

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/06/2023 01:30

Christine was Chris but now goes by Redcar. Wonder if she's ever been there?!

Whole thing is a nonsense. She said she was fighting for 'truth and brotherhood'. I Hmm'd at that.

BarelyLiterate · 25/06/2023 01:43

arghtriffid · 24/06/2023 23:55

Artic Monkeys should be ashamed that's how you do Glastonbury!

Correct.

GnR have shown Mr Turner & co exactly how to play a headline set at a major festival. Watch & learn, boys. OK, so Axl’s voice isn’t what it was, but the rest of the band were fantastic and Slash is indeed god. What an incredible privilege to see one of the greatest guitarists of all time absolutely smashing it and owning Glastonbury.
It was fantastic seeing people in the crowd who weren’t born when Sweet Child & November Rain came out being blown away by those timeless anthems. That’s the power of rock n roll.

ARareKindaBear · 24/06/2023 23:59

Notice how Slash’s hat didn’t fall off during his handstand? It’s officially a part of him now

My DS (9) asked me very seriously 'does Slash sleep in his hat?' 😄

Lzzyisgod · 25/06/2023 00:18

Oh yes us too!!!!

Ooh where you going?

OMG12 · 25/06/2023 09:55

847arc · 25/06/2023 00:33

Young Axl was fairly easy on the eye too

I wanted to marry him- lesson learned today - never marry for looks😂😂

But he’s always been a tosser, can anyone remember when he walked off stage in a strop when James Hetfield was seriously injured when he stepped on a pyro on their co headlining tour and it caused a riot.

Summering23 · 25/06/2023 10:15

All was suffering badly with his mental health during the 90’s and was undergoing intensive therapy to deal with childhood sexual and physical abuse. He was forced to tour for years when he wasn’t really capable hence the lateness, walking off-stage etc.
He doesn’t do that stuff these days.

OMG12 · 25/06/2023 10:15

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 25/06/2023 00:05

@OMG12 Yes, am rather shocked I remember all the words (and guitar riffs) too, yet earlier, struggled to recall my postcode.

Am totally making a Spotify playlist of the set list tomorrow, and will singalong some more.

Me too, I can’t remember what I started talking about most of the time, yet there I was word perfect on songs from 30 years ago

AlecTrevelyan006 · 25/06/2023 10:21

I’ve watched quite a few bits over the weekend - and as someone approaching 60 I’m obviously not au fair with many of the newer acts. However I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I thought Lizzo out on a fantastic show as did Raye. I liked the Latham’s too. Caught up with Chvrches too - although I was aware of the previously.

I’ve also found it quite moving at times. I know Glastonbury was held last year but while yesterday I was suddenly struck by just seeing so many people so close together having a joyous time. There were times when I thought we’d never see this again.

I’m off to find the Sparks set on iPlayer…
