Driving an automatic?

I'm 42. I can't drive. I had lessons at 17, 20 and 24 - hated it. Was an absolute nervous wreck. I do have GAD.

Circumstances are such now that I really really need to learn to drive asap. How easy is learning to drive in an auto.....

It is so much easier! Not sure where you're based but check out this auto driving school as they may cover your area

Do it! I finally passed my test age 47 in an automatic. Just gave me more headspace to concentrate on the traffic.

This thread is music to my ears. I've been having manual lessons for almost a year and I just cannot do it; it's caused me soooooo much stress. I've just decided to take a break for a bit and try auto when I go back.

I've found this thread in a search for driving lesson tips. OP if you're still about can I check how you're getting on? I'm on lesson 3 and I nearly gave up haha. But goodness me, I need to do it.
