Weird fetish Temu ads??

Has anyone else seen these frankly disturbing Temu ads on mumsnet (also seen on yahoo) of a fetish like pair of pants and a soft toy turkey-like headless creature with 6 legs? Tell me its not just me 😥

Oh, I'm so glad you posted about this? I have been a bit freaked out by the six legged plastic creature too. What is this all about? What is Temu? I'm too scared to click on it. Why does the internet think I need this creature?

I have to admit being bewildered by those ads too , thought wonder what I have searching to lead to those ads , I'm not clicking on them .😁

Temu is a sister company to one that was banned for illegal harvesting of customers’ data (as in, EVERYTHING on people’s phones, including photos), and selling it on - also illegal. Broad expectation is that anyone downloading the app can expect to have all their data taken and sold. That’s even before the fact that the ads have more red flags than a communist parade!

I keep getting Temu ads for a "men's self-defence ring" which appears to be a ring from which you can flick out a spike for stabbing people. As a middle aged female lawyer I am not sure they have got their target audience spot on ...

I'm pretty sure there was thread in chat the other day where people were talking about buying stuff from ' Temu' , I mean I clicked on the thread because I was intrigued . They were buying stuff .🧐

Ive just ordered items from Temu a few days ago! Not clothing. I paid by PayPal so at least my financial details should be secure. Oh dear, I hope it will be ok. I didn't order anything expensive (I don't think they do expensive) so I won't be out of pocket by much if the items don't turn up.

I mean those MIGHT be padded cycling shorts but why the padded bit so pink and so anatomical?

Don't order from these people or from China in general because they're personal data harvesting.
