@Lastminutebride the icons at the top of the Cemantle page are helpful for explaining how it works.
There are 1000 words most closely linked semantically to the target word, and the progress bar shows how far you are up those 1000 words.
The temperature of the words shows how closely linked they are, which is slightly different for each target word. Some target words have lots of very closely linked words (eg "mother" would have loads of familial words very closely linked).
Some words don't have much that's very close (eg "vague" would be linked to stuff like unclear or specific)
Don't forget that antonyms can be as closely linked as synonyms for some words.

The degrees centigrade and hot face emojis are just a fun way of showing how close you are to the answer. So the answer is 100 degrees and a party face

you need to get to word 100
so if you get to 500 you have 500 more closer words
and the degree the hotter you get the nearer to the top
so if you have a word that 22 then a word that is 10, you want to go to a similar word to 22 rather than 10

to be honest, I look at the ranking not the temperatures. My first guess today was 798 (1000 is the target word) - I got lucky with a common starter word! I could pm you my starter today if you want as a good start point?
