Just 3 kg!!!

Why can't I lose 3kg?

OK I know why, but it's so frustrating!

Years ago I lost stones in weight and kept it off for a decade. When i had my first child, I gained 4 stone and lost it all within a year. With my second child I gained 3, and again it was gone by a year.

With baby number 3, I gained 2.5 stone and lost 2 stone easily enough. I cannot shift the last half stone.

For context, my baby who is 16 months, is a terrible sleeper and I don't have the mental capacity to do any kind of weight loss. I'm also breastfeeding, and my body holds onto fat until I stop. With the other two babies I didn't weight watchers but this time around, I can't face it.

I go up and down, losing and gaining the same TWO POUNDS over and over again, and have been doing so since last summer.

Can someone identify with this? I don't have stones to lose, just around half a stone and I cannot do it!

You could look at tapering down breastfeeding, if you feel ready? I'm kind of the same. In the first trimester I immediately gain half a stone, and then it just sits there until my baby starts eating solids, whereon it suddenly falls off. Apparently my body just needs it to make milk.

@AlligatorPsychopath I tried and am now back to work so she doesn't get any milk during the day but she still drinks a lot at night. I don't get my period back until I've completely stopped either, so there is definitely a hormonal aspect.
3kg is the difference between being able to comfortably wear my wardrobe of clothes or not. It's so annoying!

Would you consider night weaning? I continued to feed both mine until 2.5 but I nightweaned at 18 months, which effectively took them down to first thing morning and bedtime, which quickly changed to just bedtime.

Oh i have tried night weaning and it was a disaster. She wasn't ready for it so I will try again in a few months but it was very rough on the entire family so I've put it on hold for now.

I did My Fitness Pal successfully when breastfeeding. Set it to maintenance calories level, and then the weight loss deficit came from feeding. Worth a try?

That's a good idea actually. Thanks
