Works

What does it do?

winepleasenotwhine · 22/05/2023 06:13

Yes. There's actual scientific evidence to show it reduces stress (by measuring cortisol levels), and I can attest it works wonders for my adhd/asd son - also works for me.

Rummikub · 22/05/2023 08:01

I used it to help me with a phobia. I can now trap them
under a glass and throw outside without having a meltdown. I still don’t like them.

@winepleasenotwhine That’s really interesting about it helping adhd/asd. Is it still the same pattern of tapping ?

winepleasenotwhine · 22/05/2023 08:14

Still the same pattern for tapping, his anxiety and avoidance / distraction behaviours are much better after tapping.

Wow that's amazing!

Newusernameaug · 22/05/2023 16:12

yes it does work, but can also be developed and used so much more.

My body now, doesn't even need the tapping, I just have to think about it, and can tune into what i need (i did train in it as a practictioner). It's another way to speak to your body and your inner child. very good for trauma, phobias, finding emotional causes and root issues of pain etc

Rummikub · 22/05/2023 22:23

@HoliOrangeBlossom
i was very dubious about it. I saw paul McKenna doing a demo. Then looked into it- EFT- emotional freedom technique. And thought I’d try it. So Everytime i got the fear (Id remember exactly where the horrid things had been found in my house) I would tap. Sometimes id need 3 rounds. And it really calmed me down enough to be able to
move on.

i still make sure I have a glass upstairs and downstairs in case. But I can leap into action without crying. And once it’s gone then I’ll shake (Not for long).

Havent done it for years.
Writing all this down has reminded me how well it worked so I might as well try it for my dentist fear.

Rummikub · 22/05/2023 22:25

@Newusernameaug

how does it help with root causes of pain? Is it the same as with phobias?

ginghamstarfish · 22/05/2023 22:37

Went to see someone for this, fortunately she said 'you only have to pay me if it works' ... it didn't.
