How to be happy with what I've got?

How can I stay happy with what I already have. I always want more, bigger, better, best.

I moved into a gorgeous one bedroom flat. Within a few months I was wondering what it might be like to get a two bedroom flat.

I book a holiday in a 3 hotel. Then I wonder whether I should have gone for the 5.

Know that you could be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Bigger and more expensive are not always better.
You could have a wonderful new flat and vile neighbours who make your life a misery/hidden construction problem etc.
You could have a wonderful, fun, happy holiday by the sea in a caravan and some go to swish hotels abroad and have a holiday from hell, bad food, tummy bugs/noisy accomodation etc.
Reframe how you see things. There's ambition...not bad if you aspire to better yourself, not just to show off. And there's greed...just wanting more and more but not enjoying anything and sulking about what you can't have.
I think you need more emotional maturity if you are to enjoy what you have.
And think a bit more, not always about yourself...and remember some people have very, very little and have even lost what they did have.

You will never get into jedi school with that mindset!

If you understand that no one else cares if you have one or two bedrooms, or where you booked your holiday and it is only yourself you make unhappy perhaps self mental preservation will kick in.

You need to decide to "march to the beat of your own drum"

One of my colleagues goes every few years to the same holiday country. They love it - it is their treat. Another colleague went this year and hated it. People are not the same.

Some people like to pour all their money into the best house they can borrow for, others like a small mortgage or to be mortgage free so they can afford to eat out/holiday etc.

You decide what is right for you. Never mind what anybody else is doing. You do you.
