What car do you have?

I have not driven in 2 years (medical and I don't wish to expand)

I will hopefully be back on the road towards the end of this year. But I've no idea what to buy.

I had a Ford Focus before and loved it.

I live rurally on a cattle farm and 1 lane roads with grass in the middle. But it won't be used for any farm work.

I have 1 DS, 10 months old but will hopefully start TTC soon so I will need decent boot space.

It will mainly be a little run around and the gift of freedom for me!!!

Any suggestions?

No harm in looking at another Focus, but friends who have them say they can be a bit low so make sure you test drive it on your track!
Skoda Rapid or Fabia Estate also worth a look. Have had both and no clearance issues on the drive where Focus can struggle.

I have a Ford Focus Activ, it’s a bit higher than the regular Focus. It has a sunroof too!

What's your budget, where are you ie is snow / mud a factor?

I'm in Ireland, on the ROI/ NI boarder. I would be hoping to spend no more than €15,000. Ideally I would like €10,000 but with the market for 2nd hand cars the last few years I don't think that is realistic. So £8k - £12k cars are bit cheaper in the UK too so I will look at buying in NI.

We are high up, with bad snow DHs jeep really struggles and when it was really bad a few years ago I couldn't get my car out for 7 days (the ford). DH got around on tractor. Mud wouldn't be a factor.

The road with the grass in the middle doesn't have a big hump in the middle or anything. It's just that the centre is never driven on so it has grass on. But the council did resurface it about 6 years ago so it's flat.
