Booking a driving test- when do they release slots? Other routes?

Trying to book a test but there's no availability anywhere.

Does anyone know when they release the new slots?

I have heard people talking about booking on an app as a way of getting a cancellation slot. Does anyone know about this?

I seem to remember they are released on Mondays at 6am, but cancellations can turn up randomly at any time. We really struggled getting DS a test, until he was actually ready to take it, and then we were able to pick up a cancellation for the following week. I had noticed available cancellations quite I few times when I was checking. I looked into using one of the apps, but never tried them.

Yes, Mondays at 6am we were told.

Yes Monday mornings 6am. I missed it the first week after dd1 passed theory so I spent 3 days with the booking page open on my browser whilst working having checked with the instructor how soon she could take it, refreshing until we got a cancellation.

The cancel app is great. One off payment of around £17 and it will autobook your available dates. Often comes up with something quite quickly.
