Waiting for surgery, distractions please!

All gowned up, stockings on, starving thirsty bit waiting to be called for surgery/skin graft to remove skin cancer on my head. Literally told 10 mins ago under general rather than sedation so slightly freaking out.

Any good, don’t use any brain power distractions until it’s my turn?

It will soon be done. Plan what headgear you will buy when healed. Can you get a new summery outfit too. Good luck.

Good luck. I had surgery recently (not serious, just gallbladder). Have you got an ebook you can read? Or get on the Wi-Fi and look into a future holiday or treat day?

Don't worry. I had a General last week was fine. Groggy a few days after but recovery all ok. My husband was in same situation in January- the graft healed well.

Thanks, the headgear is a good point as I’m going to have a far bigger scar than I realised! Shame I look like a potato in all hats, will get looking for scarves instead

Gosh, it’s harder waiting with a child, nil by mouth seems so much harder for them . Hope it’s his turn soon

Turns out my kindle fire has erased all downloads so only have phone, every single time I try and use my fire as a tablet that happens!

I hope you aren't waiting long! My son went in at 11am so now we are trying to distract ourselves until we get the call to recovery.

I had surgery yesterday, it went very well and I'm feeling much better than expected.

Thank you, I’m out and DH about to pick me up. As I was in there they decided to do it under sedation after all so all that worry for nothing.
