Flies are the bane of my life. All these months longing for a bit of warmer weather so I can open the French doors into the garden, only to have to close them so that the blooming flies don't invade my house. Is it just me or are they fatter and noisier this year???

I have never wanted to use sprays as they're harmful to humans and pets, but I can't take it anymore. Is there anything you'd recommend for me please?

Have you tried putting up a screen? JML do a snap screen you fix up either inside or outside depending on which way your doors open. I have one up and also have two buckets of lavender outside the door and it seems to work for us. Another solution is to fill a clear food bag with water and a put a few shiny pennies in it then hang up outside the door or windows. I don’t know why it works but we did that one year and it helped.

Spray bottle filled with a mix of dish soap and water, they drop as they're not able to fly after being sprayed. Usually die in the process too

I use a net curtain, I tried the screens for a couple of years - they kept falling down .
