WhatsApp settings

I’ve noticed recently that on WhatsApp you can now, as well as hide last seen and turn off blue ticks, turn OFF the “online” status.

So the only thing the recipient can see is when you are typing.

If you have these settings, why?

I am just curious to know because my settings have always been everything turned on, including blue ticks.

I choose who I allow to see if I and when i'm online. It's easier for me. Some people can get a bit antsy if I don't reply straight away if they can see when I've been online

I want to be able to msg DSis, DH or whoever without my manager seething that I’m online but not reading, or replying to, the message she’s sent the group asking about X on my day off.

That’s a good idea actually. I may also choose who can see when I was last online etc!

I have it set like that on my phone. I know people who complain because they can see I’m online and haven’t responded to their message. It’s really annoying so I don’t let people see I’m online now.
